The format of GMOT is that a group comes together, has a short round of introductions, then a presenter offers several different viewpoints on a great question of theological/philosophical/ethical substance (for 10-15 minutes), and then we open it up for lively discussion. Participants tend to vary widely in their religious affiliations (and non-affiliations) and the only ground rule of the group is "deep listening" which means we should voice our authentic opinions, but not try to cram them dow …

This is a gathering of like-minded folks in the Seattle area who are passionate readers of the author and thinker C.S. Lewis. The Screwtape Letters, The Great Divorce, the Chronicles of Narnia, Perelandra, the list goes on and on of works that have already become heritage classics in religious philosophy and Christian thought (not to mention a few that have been overlooked!). The purpose of our group is very simple: we discuss and analyze ideas. The word "analyze/analytical" is not a reference to syllogistic, analytical philosophy, but rather stands for those who like to analyze and critique ideas. Its a place for thinkers to connect with other thinkers! The format is also very simple: there is a brief 15 to 30 minute lecture (the shorter the better) followed by a civil conversation.
